I am beginning a new endeavor and trying to do a daily blog in addition to the Principal Newsletter. While the newsletter will go into more detail about subjects upcoming, I hope to use the Blog to let you know what is happening now. My first entry is about what we did last week. On Wednesday, we had Kevin Epling come to speak to students and parents about Bullying. As you may recall, Kevin and his wife Tammy are ardent fighters for Michigan to implement a Bullying Law. They used the tragedy of their son, Matthew, experience with bullying and his suicide because of it to help other families. Students were heard their testimony and also were given tips on how they can help others. If you go on line to the Ann Arbor Journal you can see an article that highlights the evening presentation to parents. On Friday, we had our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly. Each year we ask students to contribute Visual, Vocal, Fine Arts, and Written entries to our contest. All students who contribute are entered into a drawing for tickets to the Spinx concert when it visits Ann Arbor next month. We had many awesome contributions. The students talent is mind-boggling. I hope that we will get some of our show on the web-site. Look for it. Also, you can read an article about our assembly, also on the Ann Arbor Journal page.
